It’s funny in the last ten years that I’ve had at least 9 different business cards. Titles don’t really define who you are though, they are just titles. Most of them were pretty made up, but basically have been the same thing. Even though I wore many different hats (figuratively and literally) for different companies, it really all boiled down to “What do you DO?”.
In reality though, it’s not WHAT you do, or even what you’re called, it’s who you ARE.
In my circle, we don’t care who you work for, but rather how much pride and passion you have in your WORK.
We don’t care what your title is, but what do you actually get DONE during a day?
It’s not even about who you work for (although the perks come in handy sometimes), but rather who you surround yourself with.
I’ve been lucky in life that I’ve managed to swim with the right circles and still avoid all venomous and poisonous relationships.
Even moreso these days, there just is NO TIME to spend on making new circles.
Inevitably, that’s how life goes though. Circles overlap, shrink, grow, and eventually haze and fade.
I’m hoping that in my next role in my new company that they at least have really cool business card designs.
